Scaredy Cat

…..errr, I mean dog.

It rained almost all day Monday, which means after Rusty (the dog) was good and soaked, he finally decided he wanted in the house.  That afternoon, we had a bit of thunder and lightening that sent Rusty running.  Addie had been asleep when Rusty finally decided to come in so she was not aware the dog was in the house.  Later that afternoon, Addie and I were in the bedroom folding laundry when Rusty let out a big yawn from the closet (his hiding place during storms).  She was sitting on the floor a few feet in front of the closet and was still unaware he was inside.  She slowly peeked into the closet only to see two glowing eyes staring back at her.  Needless to say, he scared the daylights out of her.  It took her a good twenty minutes to warm back up to him once he made it out of the closet.  It probably took her that long though because it took him twenty minutes to just make it out of the closet.  See the pictures of the guard on duty below.

I’m pretty sure if Addie hadn’t come along to run off the cat, he would still be locked in that closet today.  Never a dull moment in the Lacy Household with two kids, one dog, one cat, one fish, one frog and one snail.

Little League Night at the Missions

Last Friday night, Dalton’s T-Ball team (and the rest of the teams from Little League) headed out to watch the San Antonio Missions Baseball team.  He has been to several Aggie Baseball games in his lifetime, but none since he has started playing.  He thought it was pretty cool to watch the “big boys” play now, especially since he understands some of what is going on down on the field.

Hoping to catch a t-shirt from the t-shirt gun.

Running the bases after the fifth inning (or as close to the bases as they were allowed to run).

Blake, Addison and I were also at the game, but we have no record of this on film.  Hmmm, I’ll have to do a better job of taking pictures next time.

Just in case….

You didn’t believe me about Addie’s shoe fetish….here is more proof.

Look who is almost 1!

Addison’s first birthday is Friday.  This past weekend we had family pictures taken since we haven’t had any taken of the family since she was born (gasp!).  Here is a little preview, but I don’t want to spoil all the fun  for those who will be seeing the pictures this weekend at the party.

Family Fun

Bored?  Well, we were so what better way to cure that than to take the family bowling.  It was Dalton’s first time and he is hooked.  The bowling alleys are so high tech now too.  I remember when I was a kid, in order to use the “bumper bowl” feature, you had to haul out these huge inflatable tubes to place in the gutters.  It was a lot of trouble to do it if not every bowler needed them, so as kids, we usually just went without.  My ball spent a lot of time in the gutter as a kid.  Now days, it is all automated, so we were able to have them pop out for Dalton and pop back in for Blake and myself.  After seeing the final score, next time I think I’ll use them for myself as well.  :)

He was very amused by the fact the ball came back all by itself.

Mommy-let’s just say less than the above scores

Professional bowler is apparently not in my future.

Girl LOVES her shoes

Well, not exactly.  She does not love to wear shoes, but she loves to play in her closet with her shoes.  Today, Addie and I were going through her closet packing up all the clothes she has outgrown (tear).  This is what happened.

P1010003-2P1010006-1And yes, she does have more shoes than everyone else in the house combined.  Now if I could only find that magic wand and transform some of them into my size.

Clean Teeth

Addie finally has a few teeth (three to be exact), so she thought she would join her big brother one night and brush her pearly whites.  We were quite amazed.  She actually seemed to enjoy brushing her teeth.  Let’s hope it always stays that way.  Dalton, of course, thinks brushing your teeth is the best thing in the world and actually begs to do it.  Who wouldn’t want to brush their teeth when your tooth brush sings the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song over and over and over again?

It’s all about the box

I’m not sure what it is but a box just might be the best toy in the world.  Especially when there is a baby in the box AND the box is being pushed around the house by daddy.

Birthday Boy!

Today is Dalton’s 4th Birthday.  So far he has been able to celebrate by getting four shots at the doctors office.  I’m such a mean mommy for scheduling his 4 year well visit on his actual birthday, but I figure it makes going to get a special birthday treat from the ice cream shop even that much sweeter tonight.  We celebrated with friends and family this weekend down the road at one of our favorite parks.  Here is a picture of the birthday boy.  I’ll post more later, but little Miss Addison appears to be up from her nap.
