We loaded up the car and headed out just after lunch on Christmas Eve, making it to Angelo just in time for the Christmas Eve service at Blake’s childhood church. It is always so wonderful to get to spend the holidays with so many of our friends and family. After the service, we went back to Blake’s parents house for the annual friends and family Lacy Christmas Eve party. Here we are (minus Addie) just before heading to bed to eagerly await the arrival of Santa.

What’s a girl to do?
Dalton stayed with Macca, Poc, Tyler and Grandma the week before Christmas which means Addie and I had the house to ourselves for most of it. What did we do with our time you ask?
Well for starters, we went to the library for arts and crafts…
but shhhhh, don’t tell Dalton that they had cookies that week!
And then we spent a lot of time being silly around the house…
riding on the goat in our pj’s. We had lots of fun, but missed our Dalty bear too.
Around the house…
With the next picture, you will understand why there are so many toys all over the floor….
Mostly because it is more fun to play inside an empty toy box.
Library Fun!
Story time at the library always seems to slow down around the holidays with so many families traveling home. We basically had the library to ourselves the few weeks before Christmas. Dalton always has a great time, as Mrs. Claudia allows him to be her little helper most weeks. Here they are enjoying some rainy day fun inside the nice cozy library.
You can’t beat a front row seat when listening to a story.
Playing red light/green light inside since it was raining that day. Dalton loves being in charge of the signs.
Jumping for JOY with all the excitement.
Since the little ones didn’t quite understand the concept of red light/green light, Mrs. Claudia pulled out some playdough for them to enjoy.
A Very Merry Bass Pro Christmas
Each year we try to make sure we make it over to Bass Pro around the holidays to check out all the animals, sit in Santa’s lap and play with all the cool toys found in the store. I’m pretty sure Blake and the kids would stay here all day if I would let them. I actually do remember the Christmas I was pregnant with Addie, I finally had to tell Blake and Dalton that I would go pull the car up front and meet them outside. We had been there for over three hours and it still took them a good 15 minutes to make their way to the car after I went outside! Here they are as happy as ever to be playing around in their favorite store.
Addie was not sure what to think about the big kitty.
This was the best shot we could get after about four tries. The big fish tank next to the tree made of antlers was just too much for Addie. Looking at the camera for a quick picture was the least of her concerns.
Dalton found what he wanted for Christmas. Too bad he already told Santa he wanted a pirate ship for this year.
And of course Addie found one in pink! She is turning into such a little girly girl and loves anything and everything pretty, pink or shiny.
Visiting with Santa. At least Addie isn’t running away with a look of horror this time around!
Daddy’s little hunting partner in training. She even found herself a little pink gun!
Friday Fun
The kids and I have started a tradition called “Friday Fun”. Basically that means I get out something “messy” for the kids to do that I know they will love, but that I dread cleaning up. A few weeks ago I pulled out the playdough for the little ones. They had a blast! We even managed to make it though the entire activity without anyone sampling any of the art supplies this time.

Dancing Girl
We went back home over New Year’s to visit my grandparents for my grandfather’s 86th birthday. While there, They had a dancing snowman that the kids were having a great time playing and dancing with. Click on the picture below to see…

Sea World
This past weekend the weather was actually nice for a day, so we packed up the kids and headed down to see the Moo (code for Shamu). They are gearing up for their Christmas celebration.
Other than the Christmas tree, you would never know it was December. The temperature was great, no clouds, and best of all, almost no one was there!
We got to do a few rides with no wait at all. We would get to the end and since no one was there we would ride again!
Dalton was soaked after doing this four times in a row and even though he was shivering uncontrollably he wanted to keep going.
We also saw a Christmas show…
and some friends…
And of course we couldn’t leave without the main attraction…
