Best Friends

May08-64 Dalton has been a big brother for over 3 weeks now and has become best friends with his little sister.  He loves to hold her and even tries to share his toys with her.  She's not quite ready for that yet though.  When he's decided he's had enough, he looks at us and says "babies away!" We're not real sure where that came from but it sure is funny.

Addison has been growing like a weed in her first three weeks.  She has grown 2.75 inches and gained 1 lb. and 3.5 oz.  She is sleeping better and can make it about 4 hours now.  Best four hours ever.

Full House

May08-58

It's been almost two weeks since little Addison joined the Lacy household. She is getting along beautifully.  She is a little confused as to what the proper thing to do at night is (sleep), but otherwise I think she's enjoying herself.  Dalton is so proud to be a big brother, and loves to show off his little sister to all the neighbors. They like to enjoy story time at night together (photo), and she loves getting to meet all the family that comes to visit.  Click on the picture to see more.

New Car

Hummer-H37 So after just a couple of days on Craigslist, we sold our truck. For a truck with a ton of miles, no AC, and 4 bald tires, we got a great deal on it. So now it's time to find a new vehicle for the family. Crystal has been doing a lot of research on what she wants to haul the family around in (see the picture of her test driving) and found a great 2006 Ford Explorer that we bought on Monday. It will hopefully fit our needs for a while.

Things are going terrific with the family. Addison is doing well and Dalton sure does like to hold her. Rusty, the new dog, is even starting to warm up to everyone. He's done a great job with his new hobby of exploring for underground oil deposits in our backyard. No luck yet, but it doesn't look like he's giving up anytime soon.

The Family is Home!

May08-22 After a short and pleasant stay at the hospital, we have finally returned home. Addison and Crystal are all doing terrific.  Crystal's Mom and Blake's parents came up to meet Addison and spend some quality time with the family. Click on the picture to see more.

As an added bonus to the weekend, we also got a new dog.  His name is Rusty, and he is a German Shepard/Chow mix. He's a little shy but is warming up to everyone. He is by far the most mild-mannered dog I've ever seen. Dalton really likes him and that's the most important part. So now we have a new daughter and a new dog.  We'll also be getting a new car soon since my single-cab truck will no longer fit our family.  Apparently we all about new over here at the Lacy house.

Addison Leigh Lacy

May08-2

I would like to introduce to the world the most beautiful girl that has ever been born into the Lacy household, Addison Leigh Lacy. She was born on May 1 at 7:24 pm at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.  After what seemed like a long time in labor, she was born healthy and screaming.  She is 20" long and 8 lbs, 5 ounces.

Both mother and baby are doing wonderful, and they will be coming home on Saturday.

Addison, where are you?

It is now over 24 hours since the contractions started at 5am yesterday.  While they weren't bad and we stayed home all yesterday, we finally felt it was "time" at around midnight last night.  We took Dalton to a friend's house and went in to the hospital.

After a couple of hours at the hospital, they told us that the contractions looked good but Crystal wasn't dilated enough. So they sent us home.  The contractions are about every 5 to 10 minutes and pretty strong, but until she dilated more (which never happened with Dalton), we are just supposed to wait.  So that's were we are now.  Not much sleep, but everything seems to be going ok.

New Puppy

Rusty2 So today was the big day that we were going to go pick up our newest family member, Rusty.  He is a 7 month old German Shepard mix that we are adopting. He seem like a really great dog and we are really excited about getting him.

So then this morning Crystal wakes up at 5 and begins having contractions.  I took the day off of work expecting to welcome an even more important member to our family.  So far it's 12 1/2 hours later and the contractions are still going but not frequent enough to go to the hospital yet.  We have postponed getting the dog until we figure out what Addison wants to do.  We'll keep you posted. We may be bringing home both, one, or who knows? We're excited either way!

Dining with Shamu

This past weekend was one of the best that the Lacy family has had in a while. On Friday, we took half the day off and went to Sea World. While we've been a dozen times before (season passes), it was the first time Dalton has been tall enough to ride the rides. Showing absolutely no fear, we had to ride the Shamu roller coaster at least 6 times. We had so much fun we went back on Sunday. We rode the rides, saw the shows, fed the birds...did it all. Then, we had dinner with baby Shamu! They let you backstage where they train the whales and you get to sit and eat right next to their tanks. Three words. Best. Buffet. Ever. The whale was cool too. This one is only two years old and is still learning so we got to watch a training session. Dalton had a blast.

Click on the picture to see more. Some of the first pictures are from the Poteet Strawberry Festival that we went to earlier this month. It's basically a little town south of S/A that is really into strawberries and throws a big festival every year. 2 hours of traffic to get there. No joke.
