Mommy’s Big Helper

Dalton loves to help Mommy whenever she is cleaning the house.  Here are a few pictures of him helping around the house. P1010002

Dalton is dusting his bunk beds.  I think part of the reason he volunteers to help is so that he can climb up to the top bunk.  Mrs. Kitty (our cat) is also very fond of the duster, so this is the perfect opportunity for him to chase her around the house with it when he is finished.

Here he is cleaning the downstairs bathroom.  He LOVES to clean the bathrooms, which is just fine with Mommy seeing as how that is her least favorite thing to do.  This bathroom had just been cleaned the day before.  Mommy was upstairs cleaning the other two bathrooms the next day while Dalton was dusting.  Since he missed out on the upstairs, he insisted we clean the downstairs bathroom again so he could help.

A few other chores he insists on helping with are moping, dishes and cooking.  Mommy always try to find something for him to “stir” while she is making dinner.

It’s been one year since Dalton’s cast was removed. Thankfully there have been no lasting effects from his broken leg, although he still sometimes talks about his “handle.”

Halloween

We hope everyone had a Happy Halloween.  Dalton did a great job carving the pumpkin this year.

He even decided to try a little Halloween delicacy.zoo-43

The kids had a great time Trick or Treating in their costumes that Crystal made.  Dalton was the Hungry Caterpillar from his favorite book, and Addison was a beautiful butterfly.

Dalton scored lots of lots of candy.  Here he is working hard for it.

I’m Sitting Up!

zoo-0

After quite a while of trying, crying a little, and trying some more I think I am getting the hang of this sitting up thing.  My next project: crawling.  After that: hiding Dad’s keys. He already loves it so much when I get a hold of his glasses!   Mom and Dad have been taking us to some really cool places lately.  Last weekend they took Dalton and I to the zoo.

I got to see a lot of really cool animals, including a little deer that was just my size.

They even have helpful little “fair warning” signs about which animals you might want to take home.

There are a lot more pictures to see.  Go here to see them all. I better go now before Dad catches me on the computer.  I might have some explaining to do.  Bye bye!

Thomas the Train

October08 (33)

This weekend we traveled up to Palestine, Tx to see Thomas the Train at the Texas State Railroad Museum.   Dalton is really into Thomas and he had a blast.

There was plenty to do there with toy trains to play with and a small petting zoo.

This is when you know you are a hard-core Thomas fan.

After we got home Dalton just had to get out his Thomas train and take over the living room.

With all the attention on Dalton and Thomas though, he still likes to make sure his sister is having a good time as well.

It’s been a while

With all the activity in the financial markets at work lately, I forgot to take the time to share pictures with everyone.  Oct08-5Now that the weather is starting to cool off, the kids have been busy playing outside and getting ready for fall.  They have been picking out pumpkins and helping Mom decide what they want to be for Halloween.  (It’s a surprise!  Unless you ask, then we’ll tell you.)

Addison is working really hard on becoming mobile.  She has almost mastered sitting up, and she can roll around the room with the best of them.

Oct08-53

Since the banks see fit to grant us obscure holidays like Columbus Day,  we took the opportunity to go to the Wonder World cavern in San Marcos.

Oct08-100 Oct08-104

Aside from the cavern, they also have a small wildlife park and an anti-gravity house where water can flow uphill!

There are a lot more pictures online (because I know you love them Mom).  Just click here.

First Yell Practice

Sept08-110As any good Aggie family knows, it's best to start indoctrinating your kids young.  Especially when your son is partly named after Kyle Field.  So this past weekend we took Dalton to his first Midnight Yell Practice at Kyle Field before the game against Army.  For those who are unfamiliar with A&M traditions, at Texas A&M there are no cheer leaders or pep rallies.  Instead, since 1932 we have had Yell Leaders and Midnight Yell Practice.  After climbing up to second deck, we found the perfect spot on the front row overlooking the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band.  While the band and the yelling crowds were a little much for Addison, Dalton loved every second of it!  As we were leaving the stadium, he asked if he could sleep in his Aggie shirt that night.

Sept08-120

Sept08-119

While back in Aggieland, Dalton took the opportunity to play at the park near our old house and visit his old duck friends we used to live next to.

Sept08-134 Sept08-126

After returning home to good ol’ San Antonio, we finished off the weekend the only way we know how; with ice cream.  Sometimes it’s so good you just need two spoons.
